We start by understanding the geometry of a Cowboy Boot. You will learn how to modify an ordinary shoe last into a Cowboy boot last using specific build-up techniques, so you don't need to hunt for rare or expensive vintage lasts.

2. Western Pattern Making

Forget standard shoe patterns. You will learn the authentic Western Pattern Making system. We will calculate and draft the pattern based on unique foot measurements, mastering the geometry of the boot shaft.

3. Smart Assembly (Machine & Hand)

We use a simple home sewing machine for basic stitching, and for the critical closing seams of the shaft, you will learn the traditional Hand Saddle Stitch. This ensures a professional, durable result using tools you likely already have.

4. Traditional Decoration

Learn how to design and apply simple yet striking traditional Western decorations. We focus on a simplified approach to decorative stitching and overlays.

5. Beginner-Friendly Stiffeners

We use a smart, beginner-friendly method for applying stiffeners (counters and toe puffs) that ensures the boot holds its shape perfectly but is easier to handle during the lasting process.

6. Traditional Hand-Welted Construction

We went back to the roots to teach you the True Western Welted Construction. You will learn to prepare the insole, make your own leather welt without special tools, and hand-stitch the welt to the insole and upper.

7. The Iconic Cowboy Heel

A Cowboy boot is defined by its silhouette. You will learn how to build, shape, and finish the classic, angled Cowboy heel from scratch using leather lifts.
